It sounds like the vomiting has been an ongoing problem with this cat. If the cat has not been checked by a vet that is the first thing you should do to rule out any medical problems. If the vomiting is being caused by hairballs I would try using a hairball remedy such as Petromalt to see if this will stop it. I have a shorthair Bengal. I brush her daily but she is an excessive groomer and has had vomiting problems due to that. I give her Petromalt twice a week and it has solved the problem.
